Tina and Amanda

Tina Louise was an American actress, singer, and writer best known for her role as Ginger Grant from the TV series Gilligan's Island. Her stage career began in the 1950s, with Two's Company, a Bettle-Davis musical. After that, she performed in a number of Broadway performances before becoming one of the biggest stars on the national stage with Li'l Abner in 1957. In 1957, she also debuted her own album entitled It's Time for Tina. Louise made her foray into Hollywood acting as Griselda Walden on God's Big Acre, a drama movie released in 1958.The film won acclaim from the public and Louise got the Golden Globe Award in the New Star of the Year category. In the years prior to this, she attended the Actors Studio of New York. Lee Strasberg was her tutor. In 1964, she won her second notable role, when CBS appointed her as Ginger Grant. Louise played a wonderful performance juggling Broadway as well as Hollywood. She played somber as well as contrasting characters from the glamorous doll she was perceived as. Amanda Tapping..........................Amanda Tapping is best known for her acting roles as Samantha Carter in the series Stargate. She also appeared on the show as Helen Magnus in Sanctuary although during the last couple of years she has also made her name as a highly successful director of several well-known television series like Supernatural or The 100. The family that she was raised with moved from Essex to Toronto and she lived there for growing up and in adolescence. After being chosen in 1997 to play Samantha Carter she settled down in Vancouver and has been living in the city ever since.
